It is with a swirling mix of emotions that I write to inform you of my departure from Cougar Creek Elementary. It has been an honor to serve as the principal of such a wonderful school, and to become a part of such a supportive and wonderful school community. I have served these last four years with no regrets and only the most positive of memories.
For those of you who don’t know, I live near Bellingham, WA and the hour commute each way has been a manageable but difficult arrangement to sustain. Recently, an opening for elementary principal came up in my previous school district where I used to work, and where I also happen to live. The temptation proved too great, and so I applied for the position and was just recently selected.
The decision to move schools has nothing to do with my experience here at Cougar Creek. On the contrary, it has made the decision all the more difficult. However, I feel it is the right decision for both me and my family at this time. As I leave Cougar Creek for a position in another district, I am extremely grateful for the support of this community. I feel blessed, but more importantly, our students are blessed by all that you, individually and collectively, provide for them. I look forward to the next four months, as I continue to serve our school community for the remainder of this year. Thank you all for some very special memories.
